Procedure

Outlined below is an overview of how our working relationship typically develops over the course of a project.

Step 1

Initial Contact

If you’ve established an interest in our services, we encourage you to contact us. We will advise you on what is required to move forward, and set up a meeting if necessary.

Step 2

Consulting

We review your requirements and help you to structure your ideas in line with your key objectives. We provide valuable advice on technology, graphics and e-marketing strategy.

Step 3

Agreement

An agreement is met in regards to an ongoing working collaboration, defining schedule, price and project scope.

Step 4

Development

We begin the development cycle, keeping you up to date with progress and working closely with you to manage evolving ideas as the website comes together.

Evolving ideas

Plan

The planning of a project is divided into two phases. The first phase consists in high-level planning, determining the scope of the project and ensuring that requirements are aligned with general business objectives. The second phase is more technical, devising solutions on how to implement the required functionality. The second phase requires in-depth attention from the project leaders and graphics designers. The primary deliverable of the planning phase are Wireframes; these determine the functionality and key content for each page of the website.

Design

Graphical designs are created based on the Wireframes from the planning phase. The colours and layout are designed in line with your requirements. Our designers pay special attention to ergonomics and usability to ensure that the website is intuitive and easy to navigate. Within this step, designs are finalised and each page is signed off before continuing to the implementation stage.

Implement

The implementation step is where the graphical designs are converted to HTML, the database is created and the website is made functional. During the early part of implementation, you will be presented with an HTML preview to give you an idea of what the website will look like in the browser. Implementation is then continued whilst the functionality of the website (search forms, checkout processes etc.) are made to work. Finally, website translations are entered.

Test

The testing phase is where the website is tested rigorously to ensure it works across all major browsers, that forms and buttons are functional and meet expected outcomes, and that information presented to the users is correct. The testing phase is extremely important and usually constitutes twenty-five percent of the full development time.

Deploy

Once the website is finalised, tested and signed off, we initialise the deployment procedure. This step involves configuring and installing the website on the live server as well as setting up the domain name, content management system and e-mails. Deployment usually takes one to two days.
